Volunteering: Maintenance Assistant and Driver

Outfit Moray is looking for a volunteer maintenance assistant and driver to help assist the quartermaster with the the preparation, maintenance and stock keeping of our vast range of outdoor adventure equipment.

Keeping on top of equipment as it is being used is a never ending job, but vital in ensuring we are conducting safe and enjoyable activities. This role provides the chance to learn about planning tasks, how to look after outdoor learning equipment and ensure we always have clean and safe checked kit ready to go.

In order to be able to perform maintenance on our activity equipment, we will also need drivers to move equipment about, deliver equipment to activity sessions and collect bikes as part of Bike Revolutions recycling programme. Drivers will occasionally be needed to deliver vehicles and to take vehicles for servicing.

Maintenance Assistant and driver

What skills do I need to be able to help?

Both the Quarter Master (a volunteer role), and the Operations Manager will offer plenty of support with the Maintenance Assistant role, the main skill needed would be a willingness to learn, and a bit of organisational skill.

This role will have the need to drive, so ideally a driving license would be preferred, although don’t let this deter you if you are interested in the Maintenance Assistant role.

What Training and support will I get?

As well as all the benefits listed in our ‘What’s in it for me’ section of the volunteer introduction pack, we would look to reward longer term commitment from volunteers with the appropriate development opportunities.
