Volunteering: First Aiders

Outfit Moray require volunteer first aiders to help provide first aid cover for local events and challenges. In the past we have supported events like the Glen Affric Duathlon, Culloden Cycle Challenge, Brodie Castle Motorshow, Nairnshire Challenge.

This is a great opportunity to receive hands-on first aid experience, and could be beneficial to anyone studying medicine or nursing, or anyone looking to enter a medical profession. It could also be beneficial to anyone who has, or is working towards, any outdoor qualifications, as the role gives hands-on experience of providing first aid in the outdoors.

What skills do I need to be able to help?

We are looking for people with a 16-hour intermediate First Aid qualification, or better. A caring and empathetic personality is essential and experience in providing first aid or medical care is desirable, but hands-on training will be provided.

A full driving license with D1 (minibus) would be beneficial, and as with all our volunteer roles, you would need to join the PVG Scheme and be able to provide two references.

What Training and support will I get?

You will be directly supported by our First Aid Instructors who will be able to offer advice and guidance with regards to First Aid and medical support, including the most up-to-date guidelines.

Outfit Moray will also commit to maintaining your First Aid qualification, offering renewal training as required.

As well as all the benefits listed in our ‘What we can do for you’ section of the volunteer page, we would look to reward longer term commitment from volunteers with the appropriate development opportunities.
