What skills do I need?
Fundraising doesn’t require any qualifications, the following skills would be helpful:
- A passion and understanding of the work we do
- A good sense of humour (especially for rainy day events)
- Good communication skills
- Event planning and/or organisation skills
- Team work skills
- Leadership skills
- A driving licence would be a bonus
Essential criteria: Must be over 14 or accompanied by an adult.
What training and support will I get?
Most fundraising activities require little training and are mainly about common sense and having a zest for the task at hand. However, if there are elements that require training, it will either be given in advance on ‘on the job’. Volunteer fundraising is a great way to gain valuable life skills, such as good communication and is a great addition to a CV or personal statement.
