Our volunteers are crucial to our ability to deliver our programme of outdoor learning and adventure activities and we have a large variety of roles available for both adults and young people. Saltire Awards – Young Volunteers
The Saltire Awards are the Scottish Governmentās way of celebrating, recognising and rewarding the commitment, contribution and achievements of young volunteers in Scotland.Ā Please note, all volunteers under 18 must enquire here.
Staff and Volunteer Training
As part of being able to offer a comprehensive training and development package for staff and volunteers, Outfit Moray has a Training and Development policy to help guide you in creating a personal development plan.
Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
In November 2010, Outfit Moray were honoured to receive The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service from Princess Anne. The Queen’s Award is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of The Queen’s coronation and is described as the MBE for volunteer groups.
Volunteer Friendly Award
In March 2020, we were delighted to have qualified for the Volunteer Friendly Award and are very grateful to tsiMORAY for all their support in achieving it.Ā Our volunteers play a crucial role at Outfit Moray, Bike RevolutionĀ and Cairngorm to Coast and we are always hugely thankful for their time, commitment and dedication.
Young Person’s Guarantee
We have been supporting young people into employment through our trainee and volunteer programme for years now, so were delighted to sign up to The Young Person’s Guarantee in September 2023.
The YPG brings employers, partners and young people together to help connect every 16 to 24 year old in Scotland to a job, apprenticeship, further or higher education, training or volunteering opportunity and we’re proud to be part of the scheme.
Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
From 1 April 2025, it will be a legal requirement for individuals to be a member of the PVG scheme when carrying out regulated roles with children, protected adults, or both, which includes Outfit Moray’s outdoor activity sessions and first aiders. As a result, Outfit Moray are required to carry out PVG checks for all staff and volunteers aged 16+ BEFORE they are able to join any group activity or volunteer as a first aider.Ā
