Lossiemouth & district

Lossiemouth, Hopeman and Burghead are on the coast, around 8 miles from Elgin – perfect places for catching waves surfing and body boarding. The cliffs at Cummingston also offer some fantastic rock climbing.

Elgin & district

Elgin is inland, but only 8 miles from the Moray Firth coast and some good surfing and body boarding. Fochabers is on the river Spey, offering good canoeing and kayaking opportunities, and is also the closest town to some fantastic mountain biking at the Moray Monster Trails.

Forres & district

Forres, Kinloss and Auldearn are Moray’s gateway to the Highlands and offer good places to enjoy scenic bike rides, including the Sanquhar Woodland Mountain Biking trails. They are a stones-throw from Findhorn bay which offers good surfing and body boarding.

Buckie & district

Buckie, Cullen, Findochty and Sandend are on the Banffshire Coast and offer fantastic places for a wealth of coastal activities including surfing, body boarding and coasteering at the famous Bow Fiddle Rock.

Speyside

Aberlour, Craigellachie, Dufftown, Rothes, Tomintoul and Glenlivet are well placed near the River Spey, offering fantastic canoeing and kayaking on Scotland’s fastest flowing river, and are Moray’s gateway to Cairngorm National Park, offering a wealth of outdoor activities including mountain biking at the Glenlivet Bike Trails.
