Go Mountain Biking (GoMTB)

Cycling Scotland’s Go Mountain Bike (GoMTB) award is for anyone who wants to develop their skills and experience in off-road riding and is suitable for those learning basic bike handling skills to riding long technical routes with advanced features. It can also benefit mature riders, or anyone who wants to develop their off-road riding skills with different award levels from novice to expert.

Each GoMTB session aims to complete as much of the course as possible, but sometimes the participant may need more practise to achive the required skills. If this is the case, the participant can book another GoMTB session at the same level to complete the award.

It is vital that participants have reached the required standard to take part in each course, details of which will be included in the event description.

We will provide all the necessary equipment, including bikes if required. Participants wishing to bring their own bikes may do so, but it must be in good working order, with gears and brakes fit for purpose. Our instructor will perfom a basic safety ‘M’ check and, if the bike is deemed unsuitable, a bike will be provided.
