Helping Outfit Moray help your school

As a local charity, Outfit Moray works very closely with Moray’s schools, delivering outdoor learning and adventure opportunities to over 15,000 a year.

These sessions include our outdoor adventures and Bikeability sessions, all of which are subsidised by Outfit Moray’s own fundraising, so we wanted to let you know a little more about our work and how you can help.

We’ve been actively developing the potential of young people in Moray since 2003 through our comprehensive programme of tailored programmes for schools, youth groups, families and communities, including our popular school holiday activities.

The core of our work focuses on providing opportunities and support for young people in Moray, many of whom are vulnerable or disadvantaged and struggling with the formal education setting. These young people often have low self-esteem or difficulty integrating with others and our activities give them the opportunity to engage and succeed in outdoor learning, which helps build their self-esteem and confidence, often enabling them to re-engage with classroom learning and consequently improving their future life prospects.

As a parent/guardian of a Moray pupil, we hope you have first-hand experience of the difference our activities make, and are now as keen as we are to make sure we are able to continue introducing young people to the health and well-being benefits of outdoor learning and adventure, using our local breath-taking environment as their classroom and playground.

As the only charity of our type in Moray, demand for our services is high and has continues to grow year after year, particularly as young people continue to struggle to recover from the pandemic and its lockdowns, which means we need more help than ever to find the funds to support them.

We appreciate times are difficult for many people, but we do have ways you can support us without breaking the bank, such as using our clothing bank, taking part in a challenge event, using Easy Fundraising when you shop online or even get a takeaway delivered, or our monthly lottery that you can join for just £2.50 a month.

Alternatively, if your school doesn’t already have a clothing bank, perhaps you could encourage them to do a Ragbag appeal,  or we could arrange to do a  bike donation if people have old bikes lying around.

There are lots more ideas on our website, but another simple way to help is comment and interact with us on Facebook or Instagram and sign up for our newsletter!
