Before beginning my journey with Outfit Moray, I had struggled with health conditions such as ADHD and Tourette’s syndrome since birth.

Due to these conditions, my mental health/cognitive functionality can impact my day to day life personally and professionally. Alongside these conditions I also have some minor health concerns, such as eczema and asthma, which are often exacerbated as a result of my stress. Due to these circumstances, I had struggled with education and found it hard to find employment that allowed me to reach my potential. Outfit Moray to me seemed the perfect way to push myself to overcome the difficulties I faced, and learn practical life skills that I can carry with me, alongside vocational training in an industry that I could thrive in.

During my time at Outfit Moray I gained skills and knowledge in many different disciplines within the outdoor pursuits industry and received excellent mentorship to help achieve real recognised qualifications. The personal skills and qualities I gained from these experiences enable me to show passion and enthusiasm, risk assess, adapt rapidly to changing circumstances, effectively communicate and drive forward in my current occupation.

During my time at Outfit Moray, my personal health improved significantly, as a direct result of these new skills and the confidence they brought. I now work as a senior operator in the whisky industry.

Without Outfit Moray I don’t believe I could have created a stable environment for my family to live in today and my personal health would have deteriorated rapidly.

Looking back between then and now I can confidently say that all aspects of my life have improved and my Outfit Moray traineeship gave me the opportunity to lead a life I thought was impossible.
