Leo’s Story
We first met Leo when he came on activities with us through Speyside Youth before he joined us as a trainee in October 2024 until he turned 18 in April 2025. After leaving us, Leo went on to study Sport Science at University.
Leo shares his trainee experience below:
I wanted the Outfit Moray scholarship because I love being outdoors, sports, and I thought it would be good experience as well as linking to Sport Science, which I will study in September.
I’ve gained confidence in delivering parts of sessions and adapting to whatever situation I find myself in, as well as improvement practically in a number of activities.
I got my Assistant Cycle Ride Leader and Bikeability Scotland Instructor Assistant and I also did Mental Health First Aid training, plus Tyrolean and bushcraft.
During my time at Outfit Moray, I have really noticed the enjoyment these activities have given people and I’m really grateful and proud to have been a part of that.
