Helping Outfit Moray

Outfit Moray works closely with Moray’s schools and, as you will be aware, we will be delivering activities in your school this term, so we wanted to reach out and let you know a little more about our work as a charity.

Since 2003, we have run tailored programmes of outdoor learning and adventure for schools, youth groups, families and communities, across Moray. We currently work with over 10,000 young people a year, across all our departments, including Bikeability, to actively develop their full potential, through engagement in cycling and outdoor adventure. The core of our work focuses on providing opportunities and support for young people in Moray, many of whom are vulnerable or disadvantaged and struggling with formal education. These young people often have low self-esteem or difficulty integrating with others and our activities give them the opportunity to engage and succeed in outdoor learning, which helps build their self-esteem and confidence, often enabling them to re-engage with classroom learning, improving their future life prospects.

Helping Outfit Moray

Hopefully, you will have seen first-hand the difference our activities make and are now as keen as we are to make sure we are able to continue introducing young people to the health and well-being benefits of outdoor learning and adventure, using our local breath-taking environment as their classroom and playground.

As we are the only charity of our type in Moray, demand for our services is high and has continued to grow year after year, particularly as young people continue to struggle to recover from the pandemic and its lockdowns, and we need more help than ever to find the funds to support them.

We appreciate times are difficult for many people, but we do have ways you can support us without breaking the bank, such as using our clothing bank, taking part in a challenge event like our Winter or Summer Challenges, or using Easy Fundraising when you shop online, plus we have a £2.50 monthly 200 club you could join.

Alternatively, if your school doesn’t already have a clothing bank, perhaps we could do a Ragbag appeal during our time with you, or we could arrange to collect any bikes you have to donate, or maybe you know somewhere we could have a collection tin?

As a certain supermarket says, every little helps, so please do visit this webpage where we have put together lots of different ideas of ways you can make a difference to the lives of young people in Moray.
