Outfit Moray’s Summer Challenge

Cycle, walk, run, wheel or paddle to raise funds for Outfit Moray during July.

Do you love getting outdoors, but sometimes find motivation can be difficult? Well we can help! We have created our Summer Challenge to encourage people to get outside and explore their beauitful countryside, all whilst raising vital funds for our work delivering outdoor learning and adventure activities for young people in Moray.  If this all sounds a little easy, why not spice it up a bit and sign up for our winter challenge in January!

The ‘Summer Challenge’ starts on 1st July and participants can choose to cycle (indoor or out), run, walk, wheel or paddle the equivalent distance of either the North Coast 500, NE250 or Moray Way (or all three!) as an individual or part of a virtual team or household. We have created a printable calendar to help you keep track of your challenge and we have an online fundraising campaign for you to join and share for sponsorship (all listed below).

We will, of course, be sharing everyone’s stories on Facebook and Twitter (opt-out option available), so please do send us your photos.

Which route will be your challenge:
North Coast 500: 516 miles/830 km
NE250: 250 miles/402 km
Moray Way: 96 miles/154km
All Three: 862 miles/1,387km

We know you are going to have great fun, once you get outside, but don’t just take our word for it, here’s what some of our previous summer challenge participants have said …

The Outfit Moray summer challenge inspired us to stay active over the summer and get outside while spending more time together as a family

RAF Lossie Admin Team

In December of 2020 I was overweight, unfit, fed up, and suffering from anxiety. I had zero motivation, was sliding into depression, comfort eating and a fully paid-up member of the couch potato club.

I still get days where I struggle mentally, but thanks to my new-found love of cycling I find it easier to get back on the happy highway – especially when I’m out in the countryside, catching glimpses of our amazing wildlife such as hares, stoats, owls, buzzards, osprey, deer and many more animals, not forgetting our beautiful Moray scenery.

Minimum Sponsorship: This type of fundraising brings in vital funds towards our unavoidable daily running costs such as rent, utilities, staff training, vehicle maintenance, IT support, tax, equipment and insurances, ensuring we are able to continue delivering our life-changing programme of outdoor learning and adventure opportunities for young people in Moray.

Whilst we appreciate just how tricky fundraising can be, we do incur costs for this type of fundraising including entry fees and admin time, so we do expect people to make every effort to raise their agreed minimum sponsorship, so we aren’t left out of pocket.

Please be aware that, if we haven’t received your minimum sponsorship within 3 months of the event, we would ask you to consider donating the shortfall yourself to make sure all our costs are covered.
