Outdoor Activity Volunteer

Outfit Moray are often looking for volunteer activity assistants, particularly during our busier times, such as school holidays. You can help deliver activities such as climbing, paddlesports, mountain biking, coasteering, archery, bushcraft, gorge walking, weaselling, team games, indoor climbing and Tyrolean. Bike mechanic volunteers

Bike Mechanics

The volunteer bike mechanic role in Bike Revolution presents a great opportunity to increase your understanding of various types of bikes, how they work and how to keep them in good working condition. Volunteers will work alongside a team of highly qualified bike mechanics, gaining quality experience from our professional team and, once past the initial induction phase, you can look forward to learning how to diagnose and repair problems as well as assisting the mechanics in the day to day running of the workshop. Bikeability

Outfit Moray deliver Cycling Scotland’s Bikeability programme in Moray’s schools and our Bike Revolution (Delivery) run regular Cycling Scotland training courses which enable volunteers to deliver Bikeability 1 and 2 for children. (under 18’s enquire here)

First Aid volunteer with Outfit Moray

First Aid Volunteer (18+)

Outfit Moray require volunteer first aiders to help provide first aid cover for local events and challenges such as Huntly Room to Run or firework displays, the income from which is reinvested to support our work with young people and their families in Moray. First aid volunteers must hold a current, 16hrs Outdoor First Aid certificate, which can be gained on one of our various outdoor first aid courses throughout the year.

Minibus driver Outfit Moray

Drivers (25+)

Not all of our outdoor instructors have the correct licence requirements to drive a minibus, so we often need volunteers to transport our groups to and from our base in Lossiemouth and the activity location. Volunteers require a clean driving licence and be able to drive vehicles in category D1 & D1E.

Stores Operative for Outfit Moray

Stores Operative

We can run up to four different activties a day, using many different items of outdoor equipment; all of which need cleaning, checking and returning to stock ready for its next use. This equipment can range from walking boots to bikes and everything in between and much of this equipment has a life expectancy, which also needs to be monitored and controlled.  (under 18’s enquire here)

Community Fundraising (16+)

We love going along to local community events with our bike skills obstable course, smoothie bike and information stall (and sometimes even a coconut shy), but loads of extra hands to help out on the day.  No experience required, just the love of meeting and chatting to people!

Cairngorm to Coast with Outfit Moray

Cairngorm to Coast

Cairngorm to Coast is our annual hike and bike challenge that takes place in August and requires an army of volunteers to run.  The main volunteer role is a checkpoint marshal, but we also need help from photographers, first aiders and even bakers to ensure the entrants have the best day they can and enjoy a really positive experience. Cairngorm to Coast with Outfit Moray

Residential Support (over 18’s only)

We run two residential breaks in the Cairngorms each year, supporting around 16 vulnerable or disadvantaged young people, who are referred from different professional agencies, voluntary organisations and schools across the area. As a volunteer your main role is to be a role model and to interact as much as possible with the children, being supportive and encouraging as they challenge themselves and strive to achieve new goals.

Secrets of Spynie Tour Guide

If you have an interest in local history and adventure, then volunteering as a guide for the Secrets of Spynie adventures will be right up your street (well canal). Training is usually provided in March each year and covers all aspects of being a guide including: learning about the history of the area, people and places, Voyageur canoeing on the canal, walking the ancient shoreline, equipment involved, safety and well-being.
